As a team member, I agree to:

  • Be online, in the Republic Fleet, at start time.
  • Let the team know ASAP if circumstances arise which will cause me to not attend. Preference is not less than 24 hours.
  • Have repaired my gear prior to start time.
  • Carry sufficient quantities of all my consumables : MedPacs, Stims, Adrenals, etc.
  • Have Ventrilo installed, be online in the Ops room, and be able to speak and listen.
  • Have read, understand, and agree to the loot rules of the group.
  • Remember that my fellow members are human, and almost certainly never mean to hurt/upset you. If you feel hurt or upset by a decision, please talk to them about it.
  • Do my best to ensure everyone has a good time.

The Loot Rules

  • Master Looter will be used on all group runs to avoid any problems.
  • For all green or below loot, a purely random distribution will be used.
  • For all blue or above, the Master Looter will use the rules that follow. If these result in multiple people, it will be discussed and if no resolution is reached, a die will be rolled:
    • First - Follow primary stat. Aim to Troopers, Willpower to Sages, Cunning to Smugglers, Strength to Knights.
    • Second - Use the set type to determine, if present. (i.e. Supercommando to Trooper Tank over Trooper DPS)
    • Third - Use the highest secondary attribute from the following list:
      • Tanks - Defense, Shield, or Absorption
      • Heals - Alacrity
      • DPS - Accuracy, Crit, Surge
    • Fourth - Master Looter rolls a die.

I'll be stealing this. Thanks. :D

23 January 2012 Recap:

Team 1 attempted Hard Mode Esseles and got to examine the floor tiles in depth as we scraped our bloody faces off the first boss. After about an hour we decided that we'd learned all we could from this encounter tonight and moved on to Directive 7 where we encountered the bug that creates infinite spawning Smugglers and Consolars (3/4 of our group) on one of the bosses.

All in all, we learned a lot, and we died a lot. We're going to try to see if we can get some other lvl 50 instances in over the next week to hopefully up our gear.

How did Team 2 do?

I don't have a horse in this race, but I thought I'd point out that healing criticals benefit from Crit gear as well.

Upon further investigation, the cyborg spawn bug doesn't favor one class over another, but seems to pick on certain people once the instance loads.

However, there is a method to bypass this boss, which I think we should consider, as well as doing other 50 FPs.

We caked through Colicoid War Games and Red Reaper (two of us aren't at level 50 yet, though we expect to be by next week or shortly thereafter). Took about 2 hours for the two flashpoints.

The turret games at the beginning of Colicoid need some work, and the gate puzzles after that are interesting, but the boss fights weren't too tough.

Red Reaper was also quick. The final boss was simple if you know the mechanics.

Team 2 did well.. we dod regular mode Coilcode War Games and The Red Reaper... Fafhrd did an excellent job tanking dispite having 2 dpser 5 levels above him and our wonderful healer kept us all alive.

Well except for when the 2 boss in Red Reaper one shotted me for twice my hit points. Got to get those crystals aligned.

You guys really should try Kaon Under Siege... lots of fun and there are 2 126 lvl purple drops in there from the bonus boss and last boss. Not to mention about 10 corellia commendations.

Yeah, you can say that again. I normally cruise along at about 60 FPS indoors, 40 outdoors. That encounter turns my client into a slideshow on the dangers of intelligent insects.

I owed this a response, sorry for it coming so late.

You are of course correct, Healers also care a great deal about Crit and Surge in fact. These rules can't be perfect, so I'll throw out my reasoning and let you guys decide if I'm off base.

It's important to realize that we're talking about the HIGHEST secondary stat.

Consider the following two items :
Rakata Force-Master's Vestments (+108 Will, +99 End, +74 Crit, +51 Alacrity)
Rakata Force-Mystic's Robe (+122 Will, +105 End, +51 Alacrity, +48 Crit)

The Vestments is the DPS set, with set bonuses to Weaken Mind and Telekinetic Throw. It's highest secondary attribute is Critical.

The Robe on the other hand is the Healer set, with set bonuses to Healing Trance and Maximum Force. It's highest secondary attribute is Alacrity. BUT it has the same amount of Alacrity as the Vestments. The difference is made up in the amount of Endurance, presumably to fuel the Healer's use of Noble Sacrifice in this case.

So both have Crit, and Alacrity, and on the relevant pieces both will have Power and/or Force/Tech Power. It's an ordering issue. Also understand that no set of rules will be perfect, and discussion is key here. The DPS and Healer roles care about nearly identical stats, and so we'll have to play it by ear.

In the end, despite my best efforts to create a fair set of rules initially, we may well have to modify them in future. Fortunately we can and will edit these posts as needed in the future.
