Ren is so mad at Perrian for that picture that she is going to be sitting out of the group on Monday, March 19th...
She's not really mad, she's actually flying to Denver for DrupalCon, but the result is the same: we'll be short a healer next week. Just a heads-up.

Wrap up for 12 March:
We got an in-depth look at the rancor pit of Karagga's Palace as we wiped 3 times against Bonecrusher. It was rather painful. Some lessons we learned: 1) Don't stand near the edges - he'll punt you into the Acid of Doom. 2) Don't stand in front of him if you can avoid it at all - his AoE HURTS! 3) Kill the pigs! 4) Knocking a pig into the Acid of Doom resets the boss - this is a Bad Plan(TM).
So after we scraped ourselves up we decided to at least get our weekly accomplished over in EV and plowed through the first 4 bosses. We did not make an attempt at Soa, but got through the other fights with no wipes and relatively little loss of life. We lost a couple people on Gharj, but that seemed due mostly to some bad luck in positioning going into the first island swap.

Next week I have an evening RL appoint at 7 CST that runs atleast an hour... I'd like to nominate Karil to replace me if he is available.
Get a member of our brother guild into the ops and strengthen that bond...

Ladies and gents, I regret to inform you that my new work schedule will not permit me to join you on Monday nights any longer. It was a blast running with you, even for this short time. See you in game

Just in case I haven't made it official, I'd like to fill in for Perrian this Monday. This will be my first operation, but I should be geared up appropriately. I've done my dailies, and shopped around on the GTN to fill in my weak spots.

Wrap up for 19 March: We started off looking at HM EV and discovered that we were not as cool as we thought we were. It took us 2 tries to get the turrets down then we 3 and outed on the first boss. For the record, he's a lot tougher. Then we decided to go back to Normal mode where we mostly plowed through until we reached Soa. We got to Phase 3 of the fight for the first time though and ended up 3 and outing on him as well. There was a weird bug on our first attempt that made him never engage, but the other 2 times he killed us just fine. Our big lesson here needs to be one of spacial awareness (where the pylons will be, were the lightning is, where the mind traps are, where the platforms are going to fall and which one to jump to, etc). I recommend that everyone watch a video or several of this fight to get an idea of how it all works together and hopefully we can have fewer deaths among us and more death for him. Thanks for joining us Lafiel and Kariel. Hope y'all had a good time!

I for one had a great time. I am sorry that I missed out on the final death against Soa my connection went on the blink do the the T-storms. We might have done better if not for the bugs. I for one got stuck in nowhere land during the second fight so I was not able to help. But with that we know what happens when the floor falls out when you are being tossed in the air.

Yah sorry about that guy.. I was trying to control the pass of the fight so that he didn't transition with people in traps or in the air.. Missed you on that one... my fault

Overall I think we did really well, two of our losses to Soa came from the bugs in the game and not our failing. First failure - If we cannot attack Soa then we cannot beat him. Second fail - Half the healing was locked in la la land. Third fail - was an act of God, the thunderstorm claiming my connection so again losing half the healing..
Now that I read what I wrote it looks more like I was the central figure in everything going wrong even if it was out of my control.
Otherwise without the problems I think we could have taken him. Still it was a blast working with such an awsome group.

I don't think it was your fault. We had a really difficult time lining the bastard up under those pyramids with any amount of consistency. I usually have my camera way out, and have to zoom in just to be able to tilt the camera up far enough to be able to see them at all, let alone get him under them. I think we broke his shell twice throughout the entire evening.
Having a ground marker pointing to where it's hovering would be a huge boon.
