The idea quickly grew beyond its initial idea of just doing a few Pokemon. If you enjoyed it, keep your eyes peeled for future news. In the meanwhile, so as I don’t bug you all with more months of this stuff, we’re going to do a send-off of the series on this particular site with one of my favorite Gen I evolution lines – Caterpie, Metapod, and Butterfree. This was my first time dealing with stat blocks for several creatures that were not meant to be combat threats while still making them somewhat unique. Butterfree ended up being the stat block that made me smack myself in the forehead when I remembered that innate spellcasting was a thing.

Mild mannered fraud analyst by day, incorrigible system tinker monkey by night, Ben has taken a strong interest in roleplaying games since grade school, especially when it comes to creation and world building. After being introduced to the idea through the Final Fantasy series and kit-bashing together several games with younger brother and friends in his earliest years to help tell their stories, he was introduced to the official world of tabletop roleplaying games through the boxed introductory set of West End Games Star Wars Roleplaying Game before moving into Dungeons and Dragons.
