Welcome to my fourth Holiday Special of December 2021. This is also my last column of the year – but never fear! – I will be back in 2022. Whatever holiday/s you are celebrating this month, I wish you happiness and joy.
Dickens’ Ebenezer Scrooge might be the ultimate example of a Christmas Heel-Face Turn.
But Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch is the penultimate. Or, it might be the other way around. After all, the TV Tropes page linked above is graced by Before & After portraits of The Grinch, as he appears in Chuck Jones’ 1966 animated version. That version is my favorite. Last week I gifted the GamerNation The Grinch and his faithful dog Max for Toon. Today, the Third Day of Christmas, I give the GamerNation Genesys versions of these classic Christmas characters.
I kept the equipment scanty, but they can have pretty much whatever the GM thinks they need. Also, in keeping with the Genesys guidelines of making NPCs, even a Nemesis, simple, I didn’t Load The Grinch and Max up with a ton of Skills, Talents, or Abilities. I did give Max a slightly higher Wound Threshold than I might otherwise – because he needed them to have survived all The Grinch put him through!
