The azurdactyl is a 4 winged, reptilian beast native to Jagomir and possibly other topical to temperate planets. Some xenobiologists suspect a distant relationship to thrantas and/or aiwhas. The creatures are carnivores. They are highly intelligent, possibly semi-sapient. Wild azurdactyls are friendly to sapient species that aren’t aggressive towards them. Many beings have noted that the creatures will help hunt in exchange for part of the game.
Design & Play Notes: Azurdactyls are among the potential “random encounters” in Fantasy Flight Games’ Age of Rebellion: Onslaught at Arda I. (© and ™ Lucasfilm Ltd.) I didn’t have a chance to use them when I ran the adventure but I was intrigued by the creatures. Like my other beasts, the azurdactyl is a holistic, rather than point-by-point, conversions. I did “reskin” SWSE options to represent the unique attacks from the FFG SWRPG stats in Arda. The Dive Bomb SQ is an airborne version of the Charge attack action, with the addition of leaving the target prone. Likewise, the Trip feat is intended to mechanically represent the azurdactyl’s Wing Buffet attack, rather than the normal Grapple attack.
