The Xenobiologist continues their study of domesticated beasts. Blurrgs are herbivorous reptiles used as both riding mounts and beasts of burden on Ryloth and Arvala-7. They are also found on the Forest Moon of Endor. A few have been imported to other worlds, notably Zygerria.
The noted weapons manufacturer Eirriss Ryloth Defense Tech named its versatile Blurrg-1120 holdout blaster after the animal.
Blurrgs are two legged with smaller, short arms and are capable of carrying Twi’leks and other similarly-sized riders. Both fast and sturdily built, they make excellent mounts, even in combat–once someone has spent blood and sweat, if not tears, on training. Yes, wild blurrgs are quite dangerous, and even some domestic ones are temperamental. Most are brown, blue, or green, with or without mottling, with black eyes. After mating, males are killed by their mates, so breeders who wish to preserve male stock have their work cut out for them.

Design & Play Notes: Another beast appearing in several of the popular Star Wars TV series–Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars: Rebels, and The Mandalorian, where blurrgs are ridden by a variety of characters. This makes them an excellent mount for games set in any era, even the current movie trilogy (with its final chapter premiering later this month). If the campaign has many planet-based sessions or arcs, some PCs may want to consider the Beast Rider specialization from Stay on Target. The spec features talents geared to riders and other talents and skills useful for planet-based ops in general.
Stay on Target pp.80-83 include the Beast Riding rules as well as the Domesticable and Trained Mount abilities used in the statblock. Note that only blurrgs of domestic breeds/strains ever have Domesticable; wild-caught blurrgs broken for riding and/or draft never have this ability, although after a generation or two, their captive descendants probably will.
