Manka cats are pack animals, a trait more often associated with canids. Indeed, almost all other wild felinoid species are solitary except during mating and when rearing a litter. Xenobiology texts identify Alderaan as the planet where Mankas evolved. However, those familiar with Jedi (or Sith) lore may recall that Tython, the fabled Jedi homeworld, is also mentioned as having large populations. On Alderaan, Manka cats were mostly found in the mountainous areas and prospered as the Alderaanians believed in maintaining extensive nature preserves. Like many beasts, they were spread around the galaxy, and even decades after Alderaan’s tragic destruction, sizeable populations can be found in the mountains, grasslands, and jungles of numerous worlds which aren’t heavily populated by sentients.

Design & Play Notes: Many years ago (as in the Order 66 podcast was pretty new), I got my start homebrewing RPG content by creating Star Wars Saga Edition stats for canon Star Wars beasts that didn’t have official SWSE stats. This is the latest and comes via the Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO and FFG Star Wars’ Savage Spirits sourcebook.
Manka cats can be used in any era, and on nearly any temperate world with wilderness and/or mountain terrain. Kashyyyk and jungle worlds are mentioned in my sources.
