Last week, I introduced the deceptively cute looking Tardigrades from Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and the Wasp. Today, I give you Genesys stats, for use in supers or other settings (weird war, steampunk, etc.). Plus, an FFGSW RPG variant that lives in the strange, heavy atmospheres of some gas giants.
TARDIGRADE (QUANTUM REALM) [Minion]
System: Genesys
Characteristics
Brawn 4
Agility 1
Intellect 1
Cunning 2
Willpower 1
Presence 1
Skills: Brawl 2
Talent: Adversary 1
Abilities
Quantum Denizen (Cannot operate outside the Quantum Realm)
Silhouette 3
Swimming
Soak: 4 Defense (m/r): 0/0 Wound Threshold: 5
Equipment: Stylets (Brawl, Damage 4, Engaged, Critical 4, Ensnare 3)
TARDIGRADE (GAS GIANT “SWIMMER”) [Minion]
System: FFG SW
Characteristics
Brawn 4
Agility 1
Intellect 1
Cunning 2
Willpower 1
Presence 1
Skills: Brawl 2
Talent: Adversary 1
Abilities
Flying
Gas Giant Denizen (Can only live in the atmospheric layers of a gas giant planet)
Silhouette 3
Soak: 4 Defense (m/r): 0/0 Wound Threshold: 5
Force Rating: 0
Equipment: Stylets (Brawl, Damage 4, Engaged, Critical 4, Ensnare 3)
Design & Play Notes: Either of these statblocks can be used for an aquatic denizen or “sea monster.” Just replace the Quantum Denizen or Gas Giant Denizen ability with “Aquatic (Can only live in aquatic environments),” and substitute Swimming for Flying if using the FFG SW variant.
This second tardigrade can also represent a new kind of deep space/vacuum dwelling beast, a common type of animal in Star Wars (and other SF/Space Opera settings.) The Gas Giant Swimmer can also be used in Genesys settings as well as Star Wars.
The Stylets natural weapon represents the typical (real world) tardigrade feeding behavior of grabbing plants or, in some species, other microscopic animals and sucking out the liquids.
