The Force Awakens added the Rathtar–Han and Chewie’s ‘s latest smuggled cargo–to the Xenozoology textbooks. The Rathtar is cool enough that I once more dragged my Star Wars Saga Edition core book out of retirement, to present SWSE stats for this worthy companion to the Rancor and Wampa.

Design Notes: Back in early heyday of SWSE, I wrote a little how-to guide for creating Beast stats which got me a little attention on D20 Radio’s forums. So for old times’ sake (and those who still play one of the best D20 games ever), I sometimes stat adversaries for the system. As I said above, I couldn’t resist statting the rathtar. As always, when I do “conversions” my goal is the spirit of the character, rather than point-by-point–which actually works better when the systems are so different in approach.
For those who like to check my work, please note that Stealth isn’t one of the beast’s trained skills; I included it for convenience since Stealth is modified by size category.
Go ahead and critique my build, which–fair warning–hasn’t been playtested.
Credit: Thanks to Jon Stevens, who wrote a few official SWSE Beasts stats back in the day, for feedback.
