The Great Heep is an Abominator droid, a relic of an ancient “civilization” of self-constructing droids that enslaved or destroyed organic species and societies. The Great Heep also enslaved droids, mainly Third Degree, to sate its need for large amounts of power by draining them. He made an ideal ally for high-ranking Imperials tasked with subjugating and exploiting planetary civilian populations to provide labor, exports, and finished products for the Empire.

Design & Play Notes: For my first April post of the year, I like to honor All/April Fools Day by doing lighthearted stats. And one of my go-to sources is the 1980s Era Droids and Ewoks cartoons. For 2022, it’s the titular character from the Star Wars: Droids TV special, The Great Heep. Fun fact, the special (and other episodes) was written by Star Wars sound effects legend Ben Burtt.
This is a simple brute-force droid, suitable for any era. He’s tough and doesn’t have many problem-solving algorithms beyond Smash! and Throw! Just the adversary for a one-shot or a back-up scenario for situations like a player absence. I decided not to provide mechanics for the droid power drain, as I think it works best as fluff or to be used narratively, to add peril for a PC or ally droid.
