Welcome to the HoloNet Uplink, citizen. This series focuses on Fantasy Flight Games’ Star Wars Roleplaying Game, with content aimed mostly at the Gamemaster. Threats, adventure seeds, rules supplements, and more are all to come for those who access The HoloNet Uplink.
Time to keep the Solo conveyex rolling. With stats for the Mimbanese Liberation Army on the net from yours truly, it is only natural to provide their opponents: the mudtroopers of the 224th Imperial Armored Division. I’ve included not just the standard minion entry, but also added a rival threat in the form of Corporal Danith Nodar from the Official Guide. These troopers, anchored by a wrathful warrior, should prove interesting adversaries or potentially even compelling comrades for GMs setting their games in the rise of the Empire period.
Imperial Army “Mudtrooper” Swamp Trooper [Minion]
Imperial Army swamp troopers served as the army infantry’s combat specialists in wetlands environments. While all but phased out in favor of stormtroopers by the height of the Rebellion, these army troopers were relied upon to subjugate Imperial worlds during the first decades of the Empire. Equipped with partial armor, filtration systems, and survival gear, these troopers faced treacherous and disease-ridden environments nearly as deadly as their opponents. Fighting in these brutal conditions earned swamp troopers the moniker of “mudtrooper” after hellish battles on worlds such as Mimban.
Swamp trooper duty was notoriously miserable. Few volunteered, with many in the ranks conscripted from planetary defense forces. Some were wash outs from the officer, stormtrooper, and starfighter corps. Others were army enlistees, signed on for a single term of service to gain skills or pay for university, unlucky enough to be assigned as swamp troopers. Whatever the source, mudtroopers were known as an unpredictably motley crew with unpredictable levels of discipline. Imperial high command often mitigated this by assigning mudtroopers to the first wave, with more reliable stormtroopers assigned as insurance against insubordination or cowardice.

Corporal Danith Nodar [Rival]
A fierce member of the 224th Imperial Armored Division, corporal Danith Nodar distinguished herself as a furious warrior in the trenches of Mimban. Sporting a conduct record pockmarked with military convictions and commendations alike, Nodar was assigned to Mimban as punishment for insubordination. Her previously promising career, set in motion as a graduate of the Carida academy, had been derailed after an incident on Marca. A zealous Imperial, she took her wrath out on any Mimbanese guerrilla she could lay her sights on. This fury has earned her the esteem of her 224th division superiors, esteem Nodar hopes will justify promotion despite her blemished record.
