- Cannon- Tractor Beam (Wave 1 Conversion Kits): Attack (Front Arc, Dice 3, Range 1-3): If this attack hits, all Hit/Crit results inflict tractor tokens instead of damage.
- Cannon- Ion Cannon (Wave 1 Conversion Kits): Attack (Front Arc, Dice 3, Range 1-3): If this attack hits, spend 1 Hit or Crit result to cause the defender to suffer 1 Hit damage. All remaining Hit/Crit results inflict ion tokens instead of damage.
Lock S-Foils in Attack Position
In preparing for the upcoming Upgrade Guide, I took a close look at all the cannons. Here I noticed B-Wings now come with two cannon slots. You can have some fun with those double slots when you pair Tractors and Ion Cannons.
The idea here is to have some B-Wings throw ships around while the other ion them. Your goal is to force ships onto rocks or to go off the board. Or you can tractor one into range 1 and just blast them with three 4 dice primary attacks. At Initiative 2, you’re likely firing later so your opponent won’t benefit from the range one bonus.
B-Wings are still a chore to chew through even if it just boils down to throwing dice at each other.
Variations
You could switch out the ions for Heavy Laser Cannons. Then you have a serious threat if you catch something in Bullseye and can use Tractor to put a target into Bullseye of the other ships. But this will rarely work out the way you want it to.
You could also drop a cannon in exchange for some more health. With only one agility, Shield and Hull upgrades are affordable.
