In time you will all bow before my majesty. This is something that I have known from a very young age. I am no mere mortal woman, doomed to live and die in obscurity, nor was my success wrought by scratching out a meager existence. My gifts are just that – given to me for who I am and who my ancestors were. It has been this way for generations, for in my blood flows the blood of dragons.
My father is the ruler of this town, the son of rulers and warchiefs that stretch back in time to the moment our blood was uplifted and we were made scions of the red dragon Ignuthax who took a woman from our northern tribe as his consort centuries ago. From this union was born a son with blood of fire along with our family. And ever since, we have ruled this tribe that has now turned into a thriving trade town, elevated by our very presence and our power.
The gifts of sorcery manifested themselves early as they do in all of the women of our line, marking us as brides of the dragonfire. The fire burns strong as I harness the power that dwells within my blood, but I was told that it burned unusually strong within me, and I knew that it was to be my destiny to reignite our power with my gifts. And so I train and hone my power, seeking to strengthen it. In time I will seek out the true dragon spawn of Ignuthax and the contract will be renewed. My line will never be extinguished.
I’ve never really played around much with the sorcerer class, but I really liked this idea. The character was done well before the miniature was painted, but I knew when she was being painted that this was the character that she would represent. I mostly feel that this character would be fun to explore as she works to fit in in a society that isn’t her own. Maybe there is a dark side to her bloodline (with a red dragon as the founder, there probably is), and a skilled DM can have a lot of fun with that. Whether she ultimately embraces or rejects her blood and her destiny is absolutely a story worth telling and exploring.
