Welcome to Rebellion Week

Freedom fighters. Terrorists. Resistance fighters. Partisans. Insurgents. Guerrillas. Rebels.

Those words can all be used to describe the same people, depending on what site of a situation you are on. Games and pop culture are replete with them. Sometimes they are an evil to be wiped out, sometimes the heroic underdog fighting the good fight. Whatever the word, they’re always a good story.

Given that this coming week sees the celebration of Independence in at least two countries (Canada and USA) that are members of the Gamer Nation we have decided to devote the following week to looking at the impact these elements have in games. We’re primarily focusing on the more heroic side of the coin, as the dark side in this area can grow far darker than we want to see in our games. As such, most of our focus will be on the most well known of the scrappy underdogs; the Rebel Alliance.

All this week you’ll be getting Edge of the Empire/Age of Rebellion stats for the Leaders of the Rebel Alliance. We’ll also be looking at how you might form up for the Battle of Yavin with your X-wing Miniatures. And we’ll look at a good non-Star Wars game that shows the tricky line a Resistance must walk.
